I mean I saw a lot of Chinese movies and even if the language spoken is chinese, they still include chinese subtitles below. I can grasp a little chinese and based on what I can see, what is spoken is very similar to what is written. Why do they have to do it?

In English movies, subtitles are written only if the language spoken is not English when the supposed target audience are people who understands English.

Also of the schools I have looked at have Chinese studies but I want to Major in Chinese Language.
I was wondering if Chinese Studies does also teach Chinese Language and also what's the difference between the two majors?
IF I took Chinese Studies would I learn Chinese?

Are men expected to take the initiative more and women be submissive? Or are the genders on more of an even footing? How quickly will Chinese people expect to have sex with one another after dating? Is it similar to in the West? I'm especially interested in the perspective of young, middle class Chinese people, in cities like Beijing or Shanghai.

I have heard that good job opportunity exist in China plus the Chinese people are very nice and the country is very beautiful. I am planning to move there for some time, moreover I also want to learn Chinese language. Although I have heard that foreigners in China who can speak Chinese are able to earn good money but my concern is that while I am process of learning Chinese would I be able to find a decent job so that I am able to meet my living expenses?

The Chinese food we make at home is usually bland and has no real taste. We would like it to taste more like the Chinese Restaurant. What are the secrets?

Looking for a sort of soup recipe I ate at a chinese place in Little China Town Boston, MA. It was really light, white and milky, sweet with what seemed to be tapioca pearls as well as pieces of fruit, maybe mango or papaya.

~Thanks
